I have often heard people moaning about the youth of today - whether it be for their abusive behaviour, their messyness, them waiting behind the local shops or in the local park or their inability to find employment?
I’m writing to say - my experience is very different in the world of Manchester Locksmith.. When I set my mobile locksmiths business up, if someone would have said you need a couple of guys working for you - in particular a Locksmith Manchester I would have thought to myself ‘yeah alright’ a couple of middle aged men covering the local areas etc etc - and we’d be good to continue.
I searched high and low for that ‘ideal recruit’ - and it wasn’t until the local job centre plus suggested searching for a younger trainee locksmith that things turned around for me.
I hired a 20 year old lad that had been out of full time employment through no fault of his own for nearly 12 months - due to the economy, he’d been made redundant and had tried everything from walking the streets of his home town, knocking door to door to attending interviews for cleaning (a far cry from his joinery trained background) to try and get employment. He once said that had stopped going out ‘clubbing’ because he was too embarrassed to say he wasn’t working…
I took him on - on a trainee understanding - the guy is probably one of the most hardworking guys I have come across, eager to learn, thankful for the chance, and best of all a fantastic Locksmiths Manchester.
